Lucy does not know how to speak Spanish but needs to communicate that she is making chicken and rice for dinner. She resorts to a combination of sounds and gestures in order to convey herself.
While at a restaurant, a waiter teaches Mr. Bean how to eat oysters and other seafood. As his facial gestures indicate, he does not like the food, but he uses different gestures to the waiter to suggest that the food is tasty. He gets through the rest of his unpleasant meal in an unconventional manner.
Peter seeks out the drycleaner run by a Chinese man so that he can pick up his drycleaning. The man is portrayed as straightforward, cheap, and not customer-oriented, especially when Peter finds that his shirt has not been returned to him. They settle the conflict through a non-traditional "fight."
