As Max writes a letter to Roxanne admitting that he lied about going to the PowerLine conference, he accidentally finds the map that Goofy has been using for their trip. He quietly changes the route to Los Angeles instead of their fishing location.

Fred and George Weasley show Harry the Marauder's Map that they stole from Filch's office. The map shows all of Hogwarts and the movements of every person on the premises in real-time. The map also shows all of the secret passageways around Hogwarts.

To escape the island, the CyberSquad must reach before sunset one of the portals that Motherboard has placed on the island at random. The group uses the map to determine the distance to each portal and accounts for facts such as steep climbs and bridges being down. The kids and Digit decide to take the rapids to the bay, where they successfully reach the portal.
