The Simpsons attend the Springfield Christmas pageant. During the pageant, various students talk about how other cultures celebrate Christmas.

Riley is introduced as the new student in her class and recalls her life in Minnesota.

While in prison, Henri Fortin talks to an accountant who briefly describes his time working on the Eiffel Tower. Afterwards, Henri and the accountant argue about the letter Henri would like him to write for his wife. Henri wants the letter to contain only the phrase, "Je t'aime," which means "I love you" in English. The accountant argues that the letter will be monotonous and that it should instead paint a picture in his wife's mind and be something she will want to re-read several times.

Max babysits for Peach, and Peach tells her the sad news that she's a victim of a ponzi scheme. Since she hasn't lost anything, Max doesn't show pity.

Basil is a manager at a hotel and hires Manuel as a waiter. He tries communicate with Manuel that there is too much butter on the trays he is bringing to the guests, but Manuel does not understand English, and Basil doesn't know how to speak Spanish. They try to communicate with each other, during the conversation, Basil learns how to say "donkey" ("burro") in Spanish, and Manuel learns how to say "mantequilla" ("butter") in English.
