Dwight is confident that experience is the best teacher. He simulates a real fire for his co-workers to find out if they understand what to do in the event of a fire. During the simulation, he tries to give them advice, but they are too panicked to pay attention to him.
The boys set up preliminary rules for the group and establish who gets to speak and when. They then devise ways, as a group, to survive and get the help they need. Toward the end of the clip, the boys vocalize their choice of group leader and provide rationale for it. Once Ralph gets elected, he states that it does not matter who is in charge; it is more important for them to work together.
