Beakman explains what metals are and how they occur naturally. He then pretends to be Andrew Carnegie to explain how he figured out how to make steel. Beakman explains that steel is a lot stronger than iron so this allowed us to create buildings, strong machines, etc.

Beakman uses his telescope to look at Jupiter and then explains the difference in gravity on Jupiter vs earth. He explains the size of jupiter affects the gravitational pull. He shows astronauts on the space station floating around to show how less gravity affects us. It doesn't squish you (more gravity) or make you taller (less gravity). It simply affects the ability to be grounded.
