Chunk must perform the truffle shuffle before he can enter Mikey's house. After he performs it, the gate entrance to the house is opened using a Rube Goldberg machine, which consists of simple machines such as ramps, pulleys, and levers.

Joey, Liv, and Artie represent Ridgewood High School in the Brain Olympics. They are tasked with building a machine that will paint a portrait and have two hours to build the machine. Their machine, although unnecessarily complex, surprises the room by painting a portrait of the school mascot, winning them the competition.

Sonya and Phil finish their Rube Goldberg machine and test it out. It works, and they are rewarded with cake. Phil explains the science behind each step of the machine.

Pee-wee starts off the morning with some breakfast made using his elaborate Breakfast Machine. The machine automates several common tasks, such as cooking eggs and pancakes, squeezing oranges, and toasting bread using a sophisticated combination of simple machines.
