Mathias is found guilty for uttering the name of their lord, Jehovah, and is sentenced to death by stoning. The crowd that is to stone Mathias does not listen to the persecutor's orders, making the process take longer. The crowd's lack of listening skills results in the persecutor being persecuted instead of the "criminal."

Tituba tells a story in which she accuses Sarah Good and Goody Osborne of dancing with the devil. This starts a chain of accusations in which all of the girls in the room accuse one another of being with the devil. This scene demonstrates the paranoia and rampant accusations made during the Salem Witch Trials.

The Simpsons illustrates the prosecutions and hearings that occurred during the Salem Witch Trials in the late seventeenth century. As is portrayed in the clip, anyone can be accused and suspected of being a witch, and even the slightest suspicion that someone is a witch is a cause of concern.
