Scrat accidentally enters a flying saucer and propels himself into outer space. He travels through the solar system (also by accident), and during his journey finds a solar system, planets, asteroids, and other celestial objects.

The ice age animals are at a party when a bombardment of asteroids interrupts their fun.

Neil deBuck Weasel and the opossums are happy to find space rocks, which consist of iron, carbon, and a hint of nickel. They soon learn that the rocks have unusually strong magnetic fields and attract to each other. Although largely exaggerated, this clip could be used to illustrate magnetism and the elements found on asteroids.

Yakko gives an overview of the universe by describing the celestial objects (stars, galaxies, planets, moons, asteroids, and comets) that exist in the universe and putting into perspective the human race's significance. The song is accompanied by excellent illustrations.

Jet sings a song about the solar system in which we live. He names all of the planets and briefly explains the unique attributes of each one.
