In his Science Shop, Sal demonstrates the difference between initial and constant thrust using ordinary objects such as a paper airplane and a wind-up toy car. He explains each term and how each of the objects he uses illustrates that particular type of thrust.
Cooper and Brand are stuck in the gravity of a black hole. They use thrusters and the force exerted from detaching other parts of the ship in order to escape. Unfortunately one of the two individuals must be detached in order to make an escape.
Hiro and Baymax are en route to escape the void when a giant piece of debris threatens Hiro. Baymax shield Hiro from the debris and loses a significant portion of his suit as a result, including the proper functioning of his thrusters. With time running out, Baymax sacrifices himself in order to send Hiro home safely.
While in their submarine, the brothers end up in a Salmon run as they try to find the fish carrying the time thruster. As they travel with the Salmon, Salmon Shark who prey on the Salmon arrive, thinking the sub is a Salmon the Shark crushes the sub.
